“What the heck is pickleball?” is a question we get asked a lot.
In short, pickleball blends the rules and skills of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It is played in singles or doubles on a court with a racket and a light plastic ball. Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports around.
Our outdoor pickleball courts are open for the 2025 season. Here’s what to expect:
Court Access
- Pickleball is open to all of our fitness centre members at no extra cost.
- Courts are open during our business hours.
- Fitness centre members can use a guest pass to bring a guest to the courts with them.
- Participants must be 14 years of age or older.
Pickleball Memberships and Drop-ins
- Pickleball memberships are available for $113. This membership type offers access to our four pickleball courts, open for the 2025 season from April 28 to November 2 (weather permitting). The membership does not include access to the fitness centre or group fitness classes and does not include complimentary guest passes.
- Guests can purchase a pickleball day pass for $15.00 (or a full-access fitness centre pass for $17.50).
How It Works
- Reserve a court in advance to guarantee play. You’re welcome to drop-in during a “free space” time but a court may not be available if someone has already reserved it.
- All players (members and guests) must check in at the front desk. Members will scan in as usual. Guests will need to sign a waiver and pay the drop-in fee.
- You do still need to sign in at the front desk even if you bring your own paddle.
- We have pickleball paddles and balls available to borrow while you’re using the courts.
- Proper non-marking court shoes must be worn on the court at all times.

We are also hosting Learn to Play sessions, with the first two being scheduled for Sunday, May 4 from 10:00am to 12:00pm and Wednesday, May 7 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. These sessions are included with our fitness centre and pickleball memberships. Guests are welcome to join us for $15.
