Collaborative Care – Perimenopausal/Menopausal Package

Perimenopause means “around menopause” and refers to the time during which a woman’s body makes the natural transition to menopause.

Women begin perimenopause at different ages. Signs that a woman’s body is progressing towards menopause could include irregular periods, hot flashes, sleep problems, mood changes, changes in sexual function, and loss of bone density. These symptoms generally occur for women in their 40s but can begin earlier.

Our team of practitioners can help you navigate these symptoms. Along with a discount on a three-month fitness membership at our facility, our perimenopausal/menopausal care package involves four services:

Naturopathy: One initial consultation and one 30-minute follow-up appointment

Consulting with a naturopathic doctor plays a crucial role in managing perimenopause and menopause symptoms effectively. A naturopath can offer comprehensive advice tailored to your unique health profile, ensuring that the remedies you choose are safe and beneficial. By considering your medical history, a naturopath can propose a holistic approach, combining lifestyle changes and natural remedies, ensuring a balanced and healthful transition through menopause.

Nutrition: One in-depth consultation and one 45-minute follow-up appointment

During menopause, the decline in progesterone and fluctuating estrogen levels can have a negative impact on bone density, therefore increasing the risk of fractures. The good news is there are changes you can make to your diet and lifestyle that may help alleviate some of these symptoms and reduce your risk of various health issues.

Addressing disrupted sleep and fatigue are other symptoms of perimenopause and menopause therefore, consuming a balanced diet filled with whole foods while reducing processed foods, added sugars, unhealthy saturated fats, and refined carbohydrates is a smart place to start. Our certified holistic nutritionist will help by reducing stress hormones through diet and focus on stress management strategies to further address unwanted symptoms.

Pelvic Floor Therapy: One initial assessment and one follow-up treatment

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a powerful approach to addressing pelvic health concerns during perimenopause and menopause. By empowering women with knowledge, personalized exercises, and targeted therapies, pelvic floor physiotherapy can significantly improve the quality of life for women during this critical stage.

Personal Training: Five individual training sessions with a certified personal trainer

An increasing number of studies continue to demonstrate the benefits of weight training for women in perimenopause and menopause. Some of these benefits include increased metabolism and bone density, improved cardiovascular health and mood, as well as a decrease in joint pain. Working with a personal trainer, a program will be designed to meet you where you are currently at in terms of your fitness level. You will receive personalized programs that evolve every month with your trainer’s guidance and encouragement.
