Carleton Place Therapist Courtney MacIntyreCourtney is a registered social worker and psychotherapist. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Social Work from Carleton University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo.

Courtney has worked with families for the past 15 years to help adults and youth form strong, lasting relationships. She assists families in managing situations relating to mental health, drug misuse, human trafficking, abuse, running away, truancy, criminalized behaviour, homelessness, and other challenges. She focuses on attachment and reinforcing strong emotional relationships to navigate the turbulence of adolescence. She also works extensively with youth and young adults as they transition into adulthood emphasizing interdependence, resiliency, and connection.

In her psychotherapy practice, Courtney uses a strength-based and compassionate approach that centres around collaborative problem solving through a solution focussed lens. Other therapy approaches used are emotionally focused therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and mindfulness therapy.

Courtney is available to work with youth and families experiencing parent-teen conflict as well as youth and young adults transitioning to adulthood. She also works one-on-one with individuals up to the age of 45.
